Kennel cough is a highly contagious respiratory illness that spreads anywhere dogs share air and space—daycares, parks, boarding facilities, and even vet clinics. Symptoms can take 7–14 days to appear and may include coughing, gagging, nasal discharge, and lethargy.
When kennel cough is widespread in our local dog community—as it is now—we take extra steps to protect the dogs in our care.
Why We Use Herbal Support
We only provide herbal respiratory support when kennel cough is circulating in the community. These herbs help:
- Support immune function
- Soothe the throat and lungs
- Reduce airway irritation
- Help dogs resist infection
Since beginning this protocol two weeks ago, no dogs at Camp Dogtopia have developed kennel cough, even while cases have increased in the region.
Safety & Expertise
Our herbal support is guided by nearly 30 years of clinical experience in herbal medicine for humans and animals. The formulas we use are stocked at Healing Spirit Animal Wellness Center under the supervision of veterinarian Dr. Sarah Green and are selected for their safety, effectiveness, and gentle action.
The herbs used for kennel cough:
- Have no known side effects
- Have no contraindications
- Are safe for puppies, adults, and seniors
They do not sedate dogs or interfere with conventional veterinary care.
Why We Act Early
Because dogs can carry kennel cough for up to two weeks before showing symptoms, preventive support helps protect all dogs before illness spreads.
